Who we are

Roleplayers Toolkit is a website run by Matthew Hart, a sole trader based in England.

  • Postal address: Room 1, 51A High Street, Royal Wootton Bassett, Swindon, Wiltshire, SN4 7AQ.
  • Email: mrmlgh@gmail.com

We are the data controller for personal information collected through this website. That means we decide how and why it is used, and we are responsible for looking after it.

What information we collect

Information you give us. If you send us a message, sign up for emails, or leave a comment, we receive whatever you choose to include. That is usually your name, your email address and the content of your message.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our web server keeps logs of visits. These can include your IP address, the type of browser and device you used, the pages you viewed and the time of your visit.

Analytics. [If you add a visitor analytics tool, name it here and say what it records. Delete this section if you do not use one.]

We do not take payments on this website and we never ask for card or bank details here. Anything we sell is sold through Etsy, which handles payment and has its own privacy policy.

Why we use your information

We use personal information only for the reasons below. Under UK data protection law we must have a lawful basis for each one.

  • To reply to you when you get in touch. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us.
  • To send emails you have asked for. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • To keep the website secure and working properly, including spotting abuse and fixing faults. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a safe and reliable site.
  • To understand how the site is used, where analytics are in place. Our lawful basis is your consent, given through the cookie banner.
  • To meet our legal and accounting obligations. Our lawful basis is compliance with a legal obligation.

Cookies

This website uses cookies and similar technologies. Our COOKIE NOTICE PAGE LINK explains which ones we use and how you can control them.

Who we share information with

  • Our analytics provider, [NAME], if analytics are in use.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

Information stored outside the UK

Some of our providers may store or process information outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, we rely on protections recognised by UK law, such as adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses, so your information keeps a similar level of protection.

How long we keep information

  • Messages you send us: up to [24 months] after our last exchange.
  • Email subscriptions: until you unsubscribe, after which we keep a record of your request so we do not email you again.
  • Comments: kept alongside the article unless you ask us to remove them.
  • Server logs: kept for a short period set by our web host.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
  • ask us to delete your information in certain circumstances

  • object to our use of it where we rely on legitimate interests
  • ask us to transfer it to another organisation where this applies
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent

To use any of these rights, email [YOUR CONTACT EMAIL]. We will respond within one month. There is normally no charge.

Complaints
